Riding the rollercoaster
I love the fair , the energy the noise the smells the wild squeals of laughter and the anticipation in the air. BUT Ive never been a fan of roller coaster’s , well basically anything that flips your stomach and instills terror, and then the fact you are paying for that LOL. My mother LOVED them the crazier and wilder the better and that has skipped my generation but passed to the next one, long may that continue.
Locked in a space [ to be safe for sure ] but trapped no less in a relentless inner turmoil and outer terror , talk about white knuckles, bracing the body and wishing for it to end, my eyes were always locked shut [ I did try to like them ] so I never even got to see the views from high up, just a twisting turning intense terror and shaking when I finally escaped the cage.
Presently life can feel a bit like that for many. Certainly a roller coaster ride that even the most avid fans of the fair are probably not relishing right now. Many feeling trapped in an endless ride of anxiety and stress, not feeling safe, and no idea when the ‘ ride ‘ will end’.
Unlike the fairground ride WE can STOP this feeling, WE can decide to pull that STOP lever and get off the roller coaster.
No we can’t change everything that is happening in the world, but we can choose not to focus on it. Switch off the TV especially the’ news.’ It doesn’t mean we ‘ don’t care , us adding to the pain and fear just does that, adds to that energy Help where we can especially locally.
Get outside as much as we can. Learn some breathing techniques, go outside and yell into the air [ seriously works a treat - that’s why kids release energy like that it’s natural to need to expel that energy] - Maybe use that Anglo Saxon word ? If that helps. Not AT anyone just to vent. Like those on the roller coaster rides do, scream , yell howl in terror or joy either way let it out..
Stay away from those who make you feel disharmonious, if you ‘ have to be near them ‘ put a huge energy bubble around yourself and create a ‘ ZEN zone ‘ inside it. Is it always easy? NO , is it worth the practice ?YES YES YES.
You might be a huge fan of roller coasters , but I bet you don’t want to just stay on the same one, do you ? When we hang on to all those things from the past , when we cling to them as they pop up again , in the energy, we are staying on the same ride - wheres the fun in that ?
Like in the fair , there will be those, in our daily lives, who try to drag us on to the roller coaster, who maybe even taunt, tease , or try and make us feel guilty/ small / stupid for not getting on the same ride as them. BUT WE can chose what to participate in, what to give our energy to, we don’t even HAVE to go to the’ fair ‘ at all.
